Coffee Roast: A Single Origin Peruvian Roast
Tasting Note:
Spice
This coffee carries warm, aromatic spice notes—think cinnamon, clove, or allspice. These flavors add depth and complexity without being overwhelming, offering a cozy, slightly exotic character. The spice notes tend to show up most clearly in the aroma and finish, leaving a lingering warmth that enhances the overall richness of the cup. It’s the kind of spice you might associate with mulled wine or a spiced dessert—not hot or peppery, but fragrant and comforting.
Dark Fruit
Juicy and rich, the dark fruit notes suggest flavors like black cherry, plum, raisin, or fig. These fruits bring a natural sweetness balanced by a hint of tartness, adding a lush and jammy dimension to the cup. Dark fruit tones often shine through as the coffee cools, creating a syrupy, wine-like profile that pairs beautifully with the spiced undertones. Together, they give the coffee a luxurious, slightly mysterious quality.
Recommended Brew Methods
✔️ French Press – Enhances body and brings out warm spice and dark fruit richness
✔️ Espresso – Concentrates bold flavors, great for a syrupy shot with spicy undertones
✔️ Pour Over – Adds clarity while still showcasing fruit-forward complexity
Water Temperature
💧 92–96°C (198–205°F)
Hotter water helps extract the deep, rich fruit and spice notes without dulling their complexity.
Grind Size Guide
🔹 French Press – Coarse
🔹 Espresso – Fine
🔹 Pour Over – Medium
Tip: Freshly ground beans will yield the most vibrant, aromatic cup.
Brew Time
⏱ French Press – 4–5 minutes
⏱ Espresso – 25–30 seconds
⏱ Pour Over – 3–4 minutes
Balanced brew times help develop the fruit sweetness and warm, lingering spice.
Water Quality
💧 Always use filtered water to allow the dark fruit and spice notes to shine without interference.
Serving Suggestion
🍒 This coffee stands out on its own, but also pairs beautifully with a dash of cream or milk to soften the spice and highlight the fruit notes. Try it black for a more wine-like, syrupy finish.
