What is a long-term massage treatment plan?
A long-term massage treatment plan is a structured outline designed by a massage therapist to address a client's specific needs and goals over an extended period (3 months or more). It involves consistent sessions aimed at addressing chronic issues, maintaining progress, and promoting overall wellness. The plan typically includes regular assessments, adjustments based on progress, and a focus on sustainable improvements in health and well-being.
What kind of issues require a long-term treatment plan?
Generally speaking, massage treatment plans are ideal for issues and dysfunctions that require regular or long-term care and attention. They tend to be, but are not limited to, chronic conditions and dysfunctions, or for those which there is no medical "cure". Therefore, they are conditions or dysfunctions which require consistent management to alleviate symptoms.
Long-term massage treatment plans are also required in situations or for issues that simply require months of time for their recovery process.
Some examples of conditions and dysfunctions that require long-term massage treatment plans include:
- joint replacement
- severe lymph-edema
- fractures (e.g. broken wrist or ankle)
- severe whiplash (classified as WAD 3 or higher)
- vertigo
- temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
- prolonged concussion
- frequent migraines
- stress and anxiety
- postural imbalances
- sports performance and injury prevention
- post-surgery scar tissue management
- chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia, arthritis and persistent back pain
- regular pregnancy/prenatal massages and postpartum care
Interested in scheduling a complimentary consultation, or not sure if your issue(s) require(s) a long-term treatment plan?
Complete this webform questionnaire for Anthony Nguyen, RMT to review. Once Anthony has reviewed your completed webform, we will reach out to you to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation with Anthony for your case. During this phone consultation, Anthony will be able to inform you if your case requires a long-term treatment plan and if you need to come in for a 60-minute Assessment, or can go ahead with booking your first massage treatment if a 60-minute Assessment is not necessary for your case.
*Please note that these Complimentary Assessments do not include any massage treatment during the appointment. This appointment is for consultation and assessment purposes only to determine if we are able to help you with your concern(s), and if so, to inform you of what your long-term treatment plan would entail. Please arrive wearing athletic clothing.
Please note that minor acute injuries that naturally resolve in 2-4 weeks do not require long-term treatment plans, and therefore are not eligible for a Complimentary 60-minute Assessment. If you are experiencing a minor injury or strain, we advise that you go straight to booking a 60 or 90-minute massage session as receiving a massage in a timely manner can assist in speeding up that recovery timeline.
