What is "Sports Massage"?

(We'll abbreviate this to SM as I will be referring to it frequently.)

In the realm of massage therapy, SM is a blanket term used to combine an array of techniques together to create a customized treatment geared towards improving overall function and mobility of the body.

People seeking SM usually have a specific case or set of issues they'd like to inquire about. These concerns tend to be top of mind irregularities that don't quite meet your functional/mobility standards.

What a Sports Massage treatment looks like with me:

1) Examining your subjective information to determine what the general problem is.
2) Apply functional testing to assess and identify what the case is consistent with;
3) Design an effective treatment plan;
4) Proceed to treatment if you consent to the proposed plan.
5) Revisit step 2 and measure for improvement and effectiveness of the treatment;
6) Review the experience and determine Self Care strategies that you can continually use to help you proceed to your goal.

This category of massage is for anyone looking to restore or even improve function and  mobility while reducing muscle tension. Realistically, we can usually thoroughly cover up to 3 main concerns in a typical 60 minutes session. But a good recommendation is: For more complex cases, consider a 90 minutes session; this will allow for more detailed attention to your problem area(s).
